England v. Holland Called Off

By: Matilda | August 9th, 2011

Following the riots in London over the past few days, the powers that be have called off England v. Holland for safety reasons. It would’ve been not only a dangerous stretch of the police force for the game to go ahead, but also rather inappropriate. This means that Gary Cahill should be on his way back to Bolton. However, the rumour mill has been heating up in regards to him in the past few days, so who knows where he actually is. The entire Bolton squad is meant to be travelling down to London shortly, as our opening day fixture is at QPR, but if the situation doesn’t clear up soon that match may too be canceled. The FA says that all general admission tickets will be refunded in full, while a statement from the England squad has been released appealing for “for calm and an end to this disorder that is ongoing” which we would like to echo.
