Another Long Term Injury: Chung-Yong Lee
By: Mark Yesilevskiy | July 30th, 2011
The body part in question
Bolton played away at Newport County today. The Whites won 3-1 thanks to an own goal and two from Klasnic. The game, however, is not the issue at hand as another Bolton player was carted off the field with a potential long-term injury midway through the first half.
After giving Newport’s Tom Miller a bit of a skill check, the midfielder went in hard on Chungy with a challenge that Bolton News writer Marc Iles described on Twitter as “Chung-Yong Lee nearly broke in two” and “heard a horrible crack.” The physios treated the South Korean winger on the field for about ten minutes, giving him oxygen the entire time, before he was stretchered off the field with his right leg in a brace. It’s important to say that nothing has been confirmed yet but reports and murmurs out of the dressing room all said that it looked broken. We’ll keep you up to to date as details become available.
After the match, Owen Coyle said to the Bolton News:
“I’m not interested in views, the boy has got a really bad injury. It’s as simple as that.
“He’s at hospital now and as soon as anything happens, the doc will ring me with the severity of it.
“There is no doubt it is a bad injury. As soon as I know, I can let you know, but at the moment I cannot tell at this moment in time, although it certainly looks fractured or broken.
“I’ve got such a talented player, and one who will play on the world stage, and he has received a very bad injury. But that’s all I am going to say. I’m not going into who did it or what happened or anything else. That’s the last thing we need.”
Rest up Chungy. We need you back as soon as possible. An already tough start to the season has just been made tougher with the loss of the only other player who could consistently get good balls into the box last season.

Stupid decision by Coyle to take the team to a second rate non-league team only 2 weeks before the season starts! Why? We’ve played a 4th div team in Bradfors, a 3rd tier team in Bury, so why then play a team of south Wales cloggers. This injury will really hurt us. Ridiculous. The moron who made the tackle should be banned.

Completely agree, what the hell was Coyle thinking. Newport county, what a fool, helping out a mate I believe. Tom Miller needs shooting. It’s only a friendly. So angry at the moment. Can’t sleep. Get well soon chungy.

-

By all accounts it was a nasty and malicious challenge. There was no intent to play the ball, just hurt the man. Tom Miler is nothing more than a thug.

-

I’m glad Bolton fans these days can call people thugs, rather than praise them for awful, malicious tackles.

-

A friend said if all the players got through Bradford,Bury and Newport without a serious injury he would be surprised.Coyle is as much to blame as that meat head miller who should not be allowed to return to the game until Lee does.

-

Absolutely insane, why the hell Bolton had to play with
a second rate non-league team right before the season strats, and let one of their best players has injured
by a newport thug, Tom Miller who should be banned
forever. I’m so sad due to Chung Yong’s broken leg.
Get well soon Chung Yong. From California

(newport county) tom miller be banned are you having a laugh,it was a 50/50 ball and lee came out of it worse, this happend to us last year and our player missed all last season, these things happen…….best of luck to lee….

So very, very rich for Bolton fans to ride so proudly on their high horse. A certain Gunner remembers when Paul Robinson tried to break Abou Diaby’s leg and you peasants told us to grow up and stop whinging. Typical.

-

derek – shut up you fool !!!!! why even say that ? gallas flamini , diaby have all injured bolton players in the past , what was it again , gardner ( almost took leg off , Campo – broken foot , steinsson – broken foot , mark davies fucked ankle, so why even give us the old ‘ aint it rich’ crap!!

-

Derek, no need to start this argument. Both teams have no had their fair share of broken legs and it’s pleasant for no one. In Diaby’s case, Paul Robinson is a hard tackler and it was in a mid-season match between two rivals. Chungy was injured by a youngster who ounged in without thinking

Why is Bolton playing this kind of team- tom miller intended to hurt Chungy and miller should be taken by the police
