A day late but Bolton 3 Stoke 1
By: Mark | August 17th, 2008We don’t really get Bolton on TV here unless FSC shows them playing Chelsea or Blackburn. I spent a good part of the first half looking for a stream online only to find one where the owner of the site kept switching between the Bolton match and the Hull match. Needless to say, he happened to switch during all 3 goals. I’m still jubilant over the fact that we started the season with a win.
I wish that I could’ve done a liveblog or even provided a good game analysis but unfortunately, I couldn’t really watch the game.
However, here are some highlights
Really glad to see Elmander, Davies, and Steinsson get on the scoring list. The Steinsson goal was an absolute firecracker. Just wow. Bolton were down on possession by the end of the game but dominated the shooting aspect.
Great way to start the season boys

You are in the US right? The game was on Setanta! In fact all 10 games this weekend are on TV. You may be frightened to hear I watched 6 of the 7 yesterday.
Great performance yesterday against an admittedly poor Stoke side. Our attack actually looked like scoring goals and we had some nice passing moves. If we can get Nolan and Taylor firing on all cylinders we really have a nice attacking unit! Elmander really looked sharp and Muamba looks like a great signing. Great start!Posted from

From what I saw they looked like great signings. I don’t have satellite tv so that wont help me get setanta. Hopefully they’ll get some matches on TV

I lost this blog and found it again today, good comments, I’ll use the site as it’s better than the BEN. Good result on Saturday but I’ll be satisfied with an other thirty eight 1-0’s scored in the ninety third minute.

Went to the Reebok on Tuesday night, and I don’t have the vocabulary to express how bad they played. On Saturday the Wanderers are at home to West Brom. I’ll be there again I suppose, cricket this week is on Sunday.

0-0 against West Brom. I’ve seen worse games, Jussie played well and Shittu is looking the part. Lofty had a friend I wonder who it was. As soon as we can start putting the ball in the net the better, or it could be a long winter.

No game this weekend, it’s a good job, the weathers not very good. Anyway it’s the last weekend of the cricket season in Bolton, but I supose that will get rained off. I might as well stop in bed.

Wanderers are away today at Fulham, with one new signing still out through injury, the manager dosn’t want to risk his other new man,say he is not yet fit. He played and scored for Poland this week. You don’t see many other clubs pulling a stunt like this.

Had to go to a wedding last Saturday, so I did not see the Arsenal game. This week we have a hockey match at Formby so I’ll miss the United game. You can’t do both. Bolton have won at Old Trafford in the passed so there is no reason why they can’t win on Saturday, so good luck to the lads.

Please amend above. Should read, Bolton have won at Old Trafford in the past.

Sat 18th Oct, one point gained, or two lost make up your own mind. Still having trouble putting the ball in the net, must improve, I’m not selecting the team but I would make changes. But Megson is getting paid to do it not me. The match was typical of a local game with Blackburn.

Things are looking up. Two wins on the trot, half way up the league. Lifes getting better.

Three wins out of the last four games, Must have turned the corner. should get another one next week away at Sunderland, keep up the good work. I think that I’ll have to start one of these for my self. Because I seem to be ridding piggy back on someone else’s site, anyhow we’ll see.

26th December Boxing Day, I hope that you all had a good Christmas and will have a better 2009 than 2008, football wise that is. Good luck. RJB

Hello Mark.I thought that I was the only one left, the only reader I had. It was like being on the beach. Going of what you say, I think I could have four sons, all Wanderers fans and season ticket holders, older than yourself. We do not get to as many games as we should because we are involved on Saturday’s playing field hockey for Leigh. That’s enough for now and I’ll keep on making the odd comment.
